Knife Sharpening Classes

As of 3/20/24, we have one spot available May 5th and two spots available June 2nd. June 16th and beyond are open.

Interested in learning how to sharpen knives? Well we can teach you. Each class is taught by Albert Edmonds, founder of Seattle Edge opened in 2009. Classes are limited to four students to ensure each attendee is able to receive highly personalized instruction to fulfill each individuals sharpening needs. Classes are held at the Seattle Edge workshop the first and third Sunday of each month from 3pm-6pm. Sharpening supplies and refreshments are provided. Please bring a knife you would like to practice sharpening, if you don’t feel comfortable sharpening your own knives, a chef knife will be provided. Please wear clothing you don’t mind getting dirty and closed toe shoes. Submit a message below to email us or call to reserve your spot today!

The sharpening class will cover and include:

  • knife anatomy

  • how to identify and fix problems

  • sharpening tool selection

  • the introduction to and application of knife sharpening principles and technique

  • taking a knife from dull to sharp

  • small classes to ensure a sound understanding of knife sharpening

  • 10% discount off of all knife sharpening supplies at Seattle Edge
