Knife Sharpening Classes

Due to peak sharpening season, the last class of 2019 is the second Wednesday of September. Instruction will resume January 2020. I will be teaching knife sharpening classes at both the Green Lake Village PCC and Columbia City PCC locations October through December, see the News page for more information.

Seattle Edge is once again offering knife sharpening classes! Interested in learning how to sharpen knives? Well we can teach you. Each class is taught by Albert Edmonds, founder of Seattle Edge opened in 2009. Classes are limited to four students to ensure each attendee is able to receive highly personalized instruction to fulfill each individuals sharpening needs. Classes are held at the Seattle Edge workshop beginning at 5:30pm and ending at 8:30pm, the second Wednesday of each month. Sharpening supplies and refreshments are provided. Please bring a knife you would like to practice sharpening, if you don’t feel comfortable sharpening your own knives, a chef knife will be provided. Please wear clothing you don’t mind getting dirty and closed toe shoes. Email or call to reserve your spot today!

The sharpening class will cover and include:

  • knife anatomy

  • how to identify and fix problems

  • sharpening tool selection

  • the introduction to and application of knife sharpening principles and technique

  • taking a knife from dull to sharp

  • small classes to ensure a sound understanding of knife sharpening

  • 10% discount off of all knife sharpening supplies at Seattle Edge
